Guess who came to town?

Look what I found in my mail box today!!
And guess who was in it! It's wonderful Wilma Wishbone all the way from Texas.
She looks like she traveled well. First I was excited to see her and then....
I spied this beautiful rooster card containing a photo of my newest long distance friend. Corky! Thank you so much Vickie. You have blown me away with your generosity and thoughtfulness! I love the "button" box, pen (from your favourite fabric store), and fun fabric!
As I was snapping a few photos, my little kitty, Harpo (no, I did not name him lol) came in and pretended not to be interested in what I was doing.
So, Wilma not seeming intimidated, you know she came from a large extended ranch family, permitted him a closer look...
 a gentle touch...
and even a short bath to remove any traveling dust from that hard to reach spot on her head.
But Harpo can be fickle and I separated the two of them before he could change his mind and decide she tastes "like chicken" lol.

Again, thanks so much Vickie. I still can't believe I won your pin cushion giveaway...but here's the proof.

PS. Give Corky a hug and tell him thanks for the pic!

Day 4 of PIN IT

I can't believe that today is THE day, that is my day...first off, thank you to both

and to
for cheering us all on to new pin cushion heights... the all star line-up for today includes:

Living with Purpose (you are here)
Handmade by Mama

And now, for the moment you have all been waiting for (okay, well I've been waiting anyway) I couldn't decide just what to make, so I made several.

Found these darling little egg cups packed away at my mom's and knew just what to do with them.

While this one has been seen before, though I had been hoping against hope to be the first to post it, I love this little fried egg from Speckless. I decided to make the white a bit more stuffed just because it gave me a larger area to use for the pins.

Think this egg was "over easy"...

On another group, there was someone talking about making snowballs  for a Christmas gift. Couldn't help myself once I knew I was taking part in the pin it blog hop. A pile of snowballs. They were lots of fun to make!

This is my first hop and I have totally enjoyed myself.  Can't wait to see all the other submissions today, but that will have to wait. Have a meeting at work today and I'm trying to work up a modicum of enthusiasm. At least I'll have y'all to look forward to when I get home. lol

Update:
Thank you for all the beautiful comments and for coming to visit my tiny corner of the world. Meeting went well, and I'm just glad it is over and I'm home again :)

My newest friend...

This is my newest toy. The Husqvarna Opal 670. I've never had a computerized type of machine and it is soooooo much fun.

And, as I was recently bitten by the quilting bug, I also got a walking foot. Yay! That quilt I was working on for my sil went through this like butter. No strain at all!

And speaking of the quilt, here is the finished product.

I also played with the fonts, and added her name and all the first initials of the family here.

I got a bit hurried here, and it shows, but I absolutely had to get this mailed off today. As it is, with the holiday, it won't arrive there before Wednesday. Still...it feels so good to be completed.

Here is a closeup of the binding. Funny I didn't take a photo of the back of the quilt.
So that is one gift complete, and I sure had lots of fun making this lap quilt. Much love and prayer went into the making of this little quilt. I sure hope she feels even just a smidgen of it each time she puts this quilt on her lap.

Now that this is done, I have begun working in earnest on my pincushion(s) for the upcoming blog hop. Nope, no peaking :-)  Unless things change, my date to show is September 13th, so it really isn't far away.
