Day Eight - For The Boys

Final day of the hop... you know these last bloggers are going to be amazing! Bittersweet is today...but at least we know another one is starting up real soon after ...

November 15th

There have been so many truly beautiful creations...I'll be off to visit these last few and leave lots of comments too.

Thank you to Amy of Sew Incredibly Crazy, Mdm Samm of Sew We Quilt....and last but not least Camelot Fabrics for sponsoring this incredibly fun hop! And of course, thank you to all those who participated in creating, visiting, encouraging, and who took part in any way in this hop. I for one had a blast!

(Think I got the post out now on the right day and time. Thanks Joann for pointing out my error yesterday!)

My Day "For The Boys" - Day Six

Welcome all blog hoppers.

So glad you took a moment to stop by and see my entry...
 Thank you Head Cheerleader
of Sew Incredibly Crazy and the creative
of Sew We Quilt.  And of course our sponsors...Camelot Fabrics.

I took such a time debating on whether or not I would actually join this hop, and once I decided to join, I then found the most perfect idea for my son...

mmmhhhh, mmmhhhh, mmmhhh.

This is me trying to talk with my mouth full, after biting off a project that has proved to be more than I can chew. LOL  I learned I embroider a lot slower than thought...you know how sometimes a project doesn't appear so large until you actually get into it? Well...

My son loves Dr. Who and the 50 year anniversary is fast approaching. We will be watching the special together on Saturday, November 23 and this project WILL BE DONE for this special event.

Here is my project...

This is a free pattern from Fandom in Stitches. The blue grey fabric were an old set of sheets belonging to my son, and the planet fabric was once a set of curtains in his room.

I started out just backstitching all the figures, then I got the bright idea of adding in a saying they are most known for. Boy, I sure like that a lot.

Not sure which image I will use for 12...I've also found one with the doctor from 12 plus the Tardis. Choices, choices, choices!

Number 10 is my personal favourite incarnation of the Doctor.

Still to finish are squares 3, 8, and 12...and perhaps add a few more sayings. Time will tell ;)

Hope you enjoyed your visit. My first quilt top of this size, plus embroidery...phew. I think I should have joined that Aiming for Accuracy SAL, my points in no way match up, and I've probably made every sewing error possible, but I am in love with this quilt, and I can't wait to see my son's face when I give it to him.

Day Two -- For the Boys

Continuing to dazzle us with their creations...

November 7th

My now 16 year old son used to be very much into Bionicles. His room used to be done up in black and silver furniture. Rarely was he seen without some kind of lego in his hands. Oh the memories!

FNSI is tonight!

FNSI with Wendy of Sugarlane Quilts is happening tonight.

I will be working tonight, so as I have a little time today, I will be working on my project for the "For The Boys" (with Head Cheerleader Amy)  blog hop in November hosted by Mdm Samm at Sew We Quilt.

I love FNSI, it is always so much fun to gather (virtually) with others, sewing, and mostly creating items for others or for ourselves. I really enjoy visiting the blogs over the weekend to see just what everyone has been up to. Lots of pretty things to see and inspiration for my next projects (an ever growing list!)

There is another nice prize again this month. I have a few patterns of Jenny of Elephantz and they are just great...this month, if your name is chosen by the random generator---name chooser thingy, you could win a lovely pink/striped fat quarter and two design patterns by J of E...a bag, and a cushion. Go see the photo on Wendy's blog and sign up while you're there.

See you later!

Now I've done it

. . . joined in one more hop. I sat on the sidelines, hemming and hawing. Should I? Shouldn't I? Then, I came to Dare I not?

And lucky for me head cheerleader

still had room for me. Thank you Amy! And so I will be joining the other creative bloggers in calling out Yoo Hoo! Boys! This one is for you!

Thank you

for hosting yet another fun bloggy party that promotes such fun and inspiration to create. And of course yet one more opportunity to bless others with our creations (mostly in order to make room for the next ones, but, ahem, we won't let them know that now will we *wink wink*).
