Tammy 4 all Seasons

My most sincere apologies . . .
I am finding myself incapable of completing these exquisite patterns by Brooke Nolan and Cori Blunt in this wonderful hop of Mdm Samm and Mary.

Working on the winter vintage pattern, I grabbed some white 14ct Aida, and used tea to stain my fabric...I'm about 1/2 way through the dress, and I added pearls to the stole. I have some beautiful angora floss to fancy it up...but I am having difficulty working on it...or anything else for that matter.

I'll be stepping away from hops and other ...a-longs till I get my bearings. I'm finding my boat tossing among the waves; which without a doubt means that I am not taking care of business.

Please accept my apologies. Thank you

  1. Sweet Shari, I so understand. Sometimes you just have to "get the ox out of the ditch". If we could all be as organized as Madame Samm. Just know that we are here for you no matter what!! You get your bearings SLOW DOWN and hop when you can but enjoy visiting other's when you can't. You always have such delightful projects and you will again. You just need some "Shari" time.
Happiest of New Years and the Best for 2015!

  9. Shari, I love the tea stained aida! I have done that for an applique on a quilt, but would not have thought of it for cross-stitch. The work you have completed is lovely and it will be beautiful when it is completed. Hugs and prayers.

  12. A nice start on your cross stitch and I like the tea stained cloth. I have tea stained fabric but never though to do the Aida. I hope hints settle for you soon and you can enjoy your stitching again. I know how much fun I get from stitching.

  13. It is looking wonderful so far! Hats off to you, because I think this is the hardest pattern of them all! Looks so difficult to me, because I am just a beginner. Take your time, and enjoy the process. It will make it so worth while when you finish. It is pretty refreshing to see your honesty, and I admire you for posting, even though it is still in progress. Seems to me some have dropped out for this reason, so it is nice to see that you are hanging in there, stitching away. It is all about the stopping to enjoy the process, and I hope life grants you time to do so. I will keep posted in hopes to see your beautiful idea come to life on that pretty tea stained Aida! Hugs, ~Cori

  14. Waoh, this is nice idea with the tea dying, perhaps I should try it also, even if I already finished the Spring stitchery. I first thought of using Curry leaves, but with the tea as you did it, it just look wonderful!
And I fully understand you, I nearly put everything into my bin some weeks ago, I was really frustrated but then I just wanted to finish and step by step it went.
The idea with the pearls is brilliant!

  18. The design you were working on was the hardest one for me and it almost ended up in the trash can a few times. It's missing a few stars and such, but I just couldn't face the struggle I was having with it. Sometimes life and the addition of just one more thing is hard for all of us. Take a break and focus on you...that's all that matters! I'll be thinking of you!

  30. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties. I do hope that you find relief from whatever struggles you are encountering. Meanwhile, your stitching is looking wonderful. I started the hop a whole month after most participants, so I am not much further along than you are. In fact, I am also doing the winter cross stitch and am not as far as you are with that. Please take care of yourself, and we will be glad to see your project when you finish.

  36. Shari.. sending love and hugs your way. Life has a way of reaching out and grabbing all of us at one time or another during our lives. Just breathe and it will all come back together soon... Life would not be as great if we didn't have to ride those waves occasionally.. The waves allow us to appreciate the good times that much more... Your stitchery is going to be lovely when you can finish it.

  37. Sending you encouragement Shari as we are meant to share each others burdens. I am reading currently "Pursue the Intentional Life" by Jean Fleming this morning. She is talking about our desire to soar in the midst of life. She writes "if soaring conjures up pictures of living above life's circumstances, untouched by grief, discouragement, fear, and pain, then I've romanticized-and perverted-God's intention." "God doesn't censor the soul-raw moments of His best men." In reference to David (Psalm 55:4-8) she says, "Though David sometimes stumbled and slobbered along, he soared too. Perhaps the distance between stumbling and soaring is not so great after all." (I love that thought :) such hope!) " Ironically to soar I must taste my weakness and need. In the turbulence of life, I reach out to God. Surely hurricane gales would carry me off if God's firm grip failed. But His love will not let me go. I find refuge in Him, and I soar. I soar in the growing knowledge and experience of God Himself. He reveals Himself in Word as faithful, compassionate, loving and able. The Lord meets me in my "squall." Life's storms and stresses draw me closer to Him. I soar in the shadow of HIS wings." Psalm 91: 1-2,4. All I have read this morning has touched my heart and I have found such encouragement I hope the same for you. Jean's prayer for us who are caught in the stumble .... " When hard times come-confusing times, faltering times- encircle me with your protecting, sustaining care. Remember my intended wing and catch me up again in the strong currents of your mercy and grace- your faithfulness, not mine, Your life in me. You know my weak humanity, and it is not a problem to You. You prefer me weak and trusting so that your grace might be unfettered. Praise upon praise to your Holy Name." I am blessed by Jean's insight.
Your threads of life may appear tangled at the moment but beauty in you will be the reward when it is finished. Take Care. Janita

  38. Your stitching is looking wonderful , I love your extra details and your project will be beautiful when finished . Life gives us all rough waters at times and one thing I try when things are not so great is to repeat this quote to myself " this too shall pass" take care and hope things settle for you real soon .
